Great Live Music From Home

Today's art blog post is singing (pun intended) the praises of live music opportunities here in Chicago.

This past Wednesday I got to hear the Grant Park Music Fest's From Ireland with Love and tonight I will listen to Sibelius Violin Concerto both via WFMT (Chicago's Classical Music Station.)

WFMT has been live broadcasting some of the Grant Park Music Fest concerts, some of the Ravinia concerts, Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concerts, and other live broadcasts.

But even if you are not in Chicago (Though WFMT can be streamed online so no matter where you are you can listen) lots of groups are streaming live music this summer. For example Freedom Park Scotia has been sharing livestreams and keeping the concerts up on their Facebook page.

Music (especially live music) is an amazing way that everyone can access art from home (via our radios or our radio apps on our phones :) ) it is art we can enjoy as we are going about our day to day lives: working, playing, resting, cooking, creating …. Music can make almost anything better.
