Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

By Dreaming Ace

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

So we need to take care of our mental health

So we need to understand others mental health

All of us dragons, need to take care of ourselves

So we can enjoy May’s flowers after April showers

Life/living can feel hard edged

The world feel sharp/cutting/brittle

It can all feel like unbreakable code

“Life, the Universe, and Everything”

Does not always neatly add up to 42

If we feel lost we are not alone

If we feel without a map we are not alone

If we feel scattered we are not alone

If we feel like we are from a Different Multiverse,

Different Timeline We Are Not Alone

Stay in bed, or go for the walk, or have the tea

Read the book, or watch the show, or listen to the music

Make the food, or order the food, or bring in the food

Do the reflection, or do the yoga, or drink the glass of water

Dance, or write, or draw, or sing, or nap

Breathe, or create, or meditate

Or as Wentworth Miller once said take “moments

where (we are) doing what (we) need to do to make

sure that (we) vibrate at the right frequency …

just the things that (we) need to do for (ourselves)

that are small, doable, affordable, that nourish (us).”

Sometimes we know what we are feeling

Sometimes we know what we are experiencing

Sometimes we know what we are thinking

Sometimes we know what we are doing

And sometimes we do not which is 100% fine

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

So we need to take care of our mental health

So we need to understand others mental health

All of us dragons, need to take care of ourselves

So we can enjoy May’s flowers after April showers

Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949. This year the theme is "More Than Enough."

As NAMI states:

It’s an opportunity for all of us to come together and remember the inherent value we each hold — no matter our diagnosis, appearance, socioeconomic status, background or ability. We want every person out there to know that if all you did was wake up today, that’s more than enough. No matter what, you are inherently worthy of more than enough life, love and healing. Showing up, just as you are, for yourself and the people around you is more than enough.

This week has been a week where my brain was wibbly wobbly and everything felt like an "impossible task" (as seen by when I am getting to write this post) I will write more as the month progresses but for right now this is enough. Take care of yourself and your mental health.
